After 6 Years she wants a break!!
Been dating for 6 years now and we have a beautiful 1 year old baby together but now she says she no longer has feelings for me and wants a break to see what she wants. I thought she may have PND but the Psychologist says she is suffering with Depression as well as relationship issues and also needs to find herself as she was perhaps forced into this relationship at the age of 17 and did not know what love is.

I have tried everything over the last few weeks to make this work. Breakfast in bed, letters and rose petals on the bed in candle lighted room. I am and always will be a helper around the house and I do my fair share of housework already and help a hell of a lot with the baby. But nothing seems to work. She says she really wants us to work but she is scared we go back to before which is all the fighting but no matter how I say it won't she still thinks it will and wants a break. I am afraid I have realized to late how much she means to me and now I will lose her.

What do I do? I have said we on a break and want to tell her it will be for 2 weeks and we can assess it after that. Also do I or can I still try do romantic things for her during this break. Like leaving a note on her bedside table etc. Obviously I will move out during this time so seen her will be out the question unless I see my child.

Thanks in advance for the comments good and bad.

Breaks typically don't go very far to help a relationship. This is mainly because breaks are used as a break-up tactic. Don't get me wrong, breaks can be beneficial to a relationship, but that's not always the case.

I would try and wiggle your mind out of the relationship during the break. You don't want to sit around hoping she'll come back, when she may not, it'll just hurt more if she really doesn't.

Focus on moving on for now, then go from there.
