    There might be a pound or two of water weight gain -- but I never researched it or kept track. Have you noticed a change?

    I was told by a nurse today that there can be about three pounds gained during this time, but I was also told by a NP several years ago that sometimes there could be up to 6lbs. Gained.

    During menstruation or prior to menstruation?

    Water buildup is one of the causes of PMS - that's why many Physicians prescribed diuretics.
