My brother lives in my mothers basement and smokes a variety of things. He is also usually drunk by early afternoon. The smell drifts upstairs. My mother has asthma and this is not good for her. He pays no rent and in no way contributes to the home. Even as far as mowing the lawn or helping her clean the house. She is 85 years old and doesn't want to cause him to be any worse. She has dementia and he asks her for money quite often and she doesn't usually remember. She is baily getting by as it is now.
I have no problem that when the time comes he gets his share but he needs to leave and find another place to stay.

She or someone who has her power of Attorney needs to evict him according to State law.

Which State?

If he's using drugs in the basement, turn him in to the Police.
