    Citizenship
    My mother was born in Japan to a Japanese mother and a Filipino father. As a young child, she was brought to the Philippines and has stayed there. What is her citizenship?

    Japanese because it is maternal issue.

    Japan does not allow dual citizenship, so she would be Japanese citizen unless there was a change of citizenship when she was a child. She should know what citizenship she holds
