Why do pipes knock in shower?
While taking a shower the pipes knock and squeal. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks for any help.

This sounds like the problem's in the shower valve. What type do you have? One handle on two knobs? What's the brand name? Back to you. Tom

I did not describe my problem well. It isn't a knock but a squeal. I also have other problems... this was my other post...

The water in my shower/bath tub only stays hot for a few minutes then turns luke warm. It is a Moen single handle turn (not pull out and turn) model. I replaced the cartridge, thinking that would fix my problem but it did not. I have hot water in the rest of my home after this happens. Also I accidentally put the handle on upside down and I had very hot water. There is an adjustment with H/C and I tried turning the stem but it doesn't have a stop when I turn it so I am not sure where I am. The Moen instructions are very poor. Any ideas and help are very appreciated.

Does the handle pull out to turn on or turn right to left only?

Hi there. We just purchased a house with older pipes. The shower drain on the second floor is incredibly slow: when you remove the plug from the bath it does not move at all. I've read all of the "snaking" suggestions but am concerned I will injure the pipes, having no idea what kind of shape...
