    941 tax liens
Our business was destroyed by fire 12-05-2006, and the corporation was dissolved 12-31-2006. I later discovered 941 tax for the corporation had never been paid and employed an attorney to ensure I delt with the problem correctly.
The attorney filed the 941's and in April of 2008, the IRS filed tax liens against the dissolved corporation for all subject quarters. We then paid the principal due of almost 200000 dollars. The IRS was totally unaware that none of the 941's had been filed and they were not attempting to collect the unpaid tax until we filed the 941's. If we had done nothing we would probably still have the 200000 dollars.
I have no problem with having paid the trust fund money that was due, but the tax liens filed by the IRS against the dissolved corporation show up on title searches for the property for which the corporation was the former deeded owner and my wife and myself are the current owners. The IRS liens keep us from being able to do anything with the property.
From the little I understand, these liens are considered uncollectable and they only serve as harassment. My question is what should I do to have the liens removed if possible?

If the back taxes have been paid, then the liens should be removed.

You need to petition the IRS to have those liens removed. Not really sure how to do that, but a phone call to the IRS should get you an answer.
