    What is an insolvent estate
    My mother died. There's no will and no named executor to the estate. What happens to all her stuff?

    Usually it goes to probate court. What State was she a resident of?

    Insolvent means to have liabilities (debts) greater than assets (stuff and money and houses and cars etc).
    What state are you in, and who are the immediately family members?
