Why is my 18 week old male kitten urinating outside of the box?
I have a male himalayan kitten who will wizz on clothes, his cat bed, or anything cloth related with sides. He does not wizz on furniture, carpet or the floor. I have an appointment with the vet, who believes it is a behavorial issue. Any advice on how to change the behavior?

My cats have definite preferences for the type of litter I use. Have you changed brands recently? What do you use now?

I use Tidy Cat litter, no change. I was making the bed and he wizzed on the sheets. I had a reusable grocery bag on the floor and he wizzed on that. Last night he wizzed in the box that has his toys. It seems that he does it on piles of things or cloth boxes with sides. Thanks.

I have an appointment next week. My vet thinks it is behavorial. He is a well adjusted kitten, very outgoing, talkative and friendly. This behavior started about a month ago.

If it's behavioral, you will have to isolate him in an empty bedroom or bathroom (so he doesn't have the run of the house) with his toys and litter box and food/water bowls. Never punish him, but quietly clean up any mistakes with Nature's Miracle so he isn't attracted to though same areas again. Keep his litter box clean and watch how this goes.

Thank you. It will be hard to isolate him as he has a sister, but I will try.
