    The unit outside burned up on my central heating--my question is...
    I have a central heating and air unit, my vents are in the ceiling because I'm on a concrete slab and my outside unit burned up my question is can I use a different brand for the outside unit and hook it up to the part that is in the attic?

    As long as the rating and freon are the same, yes you can. However, you may have warranty issues with an old coil.
