    Contraceptive pill
Last month (in July) I had my periods on 13th. This month (in August), I had unprotected sex with my partner on the 3rd. And I took the contraceptive 'Option 72' pill (levo norgestrel) on the 5th (it was within 72hrs of intercourse) to prevent pregnancy.. Again on 11th I had unprotected sex. I'm worried now that this month my periods hasn't started yet and it's already 16th August (delay of 3 days).. Please advice as to when I should expect my periods to start again as I had taken contraceptive pills. Should I take a pregnancy test? What exactly would have happened? I don't want to get pregnant - is it safe to take mifetristone 600mg single dose?.

That has happen to be before. I taken the pill, skip a month of not getting my period and then I got it. You should wait or go to your doctor asap!

Did you read the pamphlet when you took the pills? I suggest you read them now. The contraceptive pill will mess up your period. It could delay it, make it come early, make it come twice in one month, make you bleed heavily, etc. etc. Being late by 3 days is normal after taking the contraceptive pill.

Having said that, there's no guarantee that the pill worked. It isn't 100%. In other words, there's still a chance that you got pregnant.

If you're concerned then see your doctor. Also, the contraceptive pill should not be used as a form of birth control, it's for emergencies only. Using it every time you have sex is not a good idea.

If you don't want a baby, don't have sex, that's the only form of birth control that's 100% effective.

    Good luck.

First the morning after pills is not 100 percent effective, the longer you wait, the less effective it is. And you did wait a while. The 72 hour window is just where it has almost no effect, the closer to 72 hour you get, the less and less effect the pill has.

Next that pill would not have had effect for the second time you had sex, Did you take another pill ? Since they have some serious side effects and are not for regular use, just emergancy use.

Also if you are having regular sex, why are you not using a birth control method, regular pills and condom both.

The pill you took will cause you to miss or be off on your cycle for one to two months, guess you did not read all of that mateial that came with the pill.

So yes you could easily be pregnant, You have to wait for a few more weeks to test.
