[Movie Buff]

This movie was on TCM in July 2012. I believe the movie was set during the Civil War. It was black and white and looked like it was made in the 30's or 40's. The plot revolved around a person who had assumed the identity of a lady's husband. The real husband had died. A famous part of the movie has the wife on the witness stand and she says something to the effect of "I know this is not my husband, because I love him." She is trying to save his life. In this movie the husband lives, but according to Robert Osborne in his conversation with Drew Barrymore,during the discussion after the Essentials showing, in the other version the husband is executed. It is similar to the plot of Sommersby-Richard Gere and The Return of Martin Guerre, but I am trying to find the name of the version that was seen on TCM in July. Thanks for your help.
