Can I be sued over things that were gifts?
Well my ex put a down payment on a vehicle it was paid in cash as a present it was less than 2000 dollars and it was given as a present to me. I make all the payments on the vehicle and my ex is not in any way on the title or attatched to it. My ex also bought me things like clothes and video games and stuff like that as gifts for me. Now my ex says he if going to take me to court and he already has 5000 dollars in suits and he is going to get double what he wants out of me. He has been threatening me and spreading rumors and lies about me. He continues to threaten and harassment. Should I be worried about court? I think he could be mentally unstable because I found a lot of prescriptions for depression and anxiety and a lot of other things.

So ex boyfriend then. If he does take you to court it will be his word againist yours unless either of you have some documentation regarding the downpayment was or was not a gift.

Idk what he is trying to sue for. I have yet to get any papers, but the paper I wrote up covered everything. I said that he would leave me alone. It also said he would quit making threats to sue me.

He is an Indian-giver who is blowing smoke. (For any native Americans who want to take offense at my use of this term: get over it.)

Don't worry about it until if & when he actually does sue you.
