Inglis washer won't agitate on it's own.
Hi, I have an Inglis washing machine about 10-12 years old. It works fine throughout the wash cycle. Once it hits the rinse where it has to spin or the spin cycle, it decides it doesn't want to do it. I can manually give it a good spin and then it will take off and spin but on it's own, well, it is just plain stubborn. Any idea's? Now the lid switch broke a couple years ago, so my hubby put a slip tie on it so it is always on. So I can lift the lid through any part of the wash and it continues it's cycle (when it is working properly).

My 10 year old inglis washing machine does do agitate properly and makes a grinding noise. It works fine on all other cycles. What could be the problem and does it make sense to fix this?
