Can I leave my cats at home with a sitter for a month?
I am fortunate enough to have an upcoming opportunity to travel for about a month and am wondering if that is too long to leave, with care, my three healthy cats (m 5y - f 5y - f 2y)?

I have a trusted friend, who my cats like, that cat-sits for my little cheetahs while I am away. The longest I have left my cats for has been two weeks and everything works out, but I can tell that I was missed.

If I were to take advantage of this travel opportunity, I would have my sitter stay at my house for the majority of the time to keep up with my cats regular schedule. I always leave directions, vet info, how to get in touch with me, extra money, litter, food etc... basically, I try to prepare for anything and everything!

It's hard for me to leave my companions and I know it's hard for my kitties too, but I get by with reassuring email updates and pictures. My concern if for my kitties; is a month too long and too stressful for them to be apart from me?

Any constructive thoughts or suggestions are welcome and appreciated :)

I was in the hospital for two weeks and ended up having to talk by phone with my soulcat who missed me terribly (the others, not so much). As long as your cats are at home, a place that they know and love, and have someone caring for them (someone they know and love), they should be fine (although you may have to talk on the phone with them now and then :)).
