I'm doing everything right, why can't I lose weight?
I'm 16 years old and I have spent the last year trying to slim down. For the first few months, it was kind of a half-assed effort. I cut out fast food and stayed active.
For the last five months I have really buckled down and tried to lose the weight. I eat very healthy. I eat poultry, fish, cheese, veggies, nuts, and eggs. I don't eat more than 30 grams of carbs a day and no longer eat any type of bread or grain. I don't drink soda of any kind and don't eat any types of candy, ice cream, etc. I drink only water, green tea, and homemade coffee.
I eat roughly 1400 calories a day and do cardio exercise at least 6 times a week for 40-90 minutes. I make sure to change up my workouts every so often and I don't eat after 8pm. I also make sure I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night.
During the last five months, I've only lost 4 pounds. The average weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week if you're doing it right. I'm 5'6" and weight 136. I know I'm not overweight but I want to slim down.
My Ultimate Goal Weight is 120ish and I have no idea why I'm not losing weight. Please help! Thanks.

Assuming all the figures are correct ( although I may argue carbs but anyway) see your doctor to see if there is other issues going on in your body

Thank you for the reply. My dad does have hypothyroidism and recently I've been experiencing some of the symptoms. I did get it tested last year and I have a TSH level of 1.2 which is in the normal range. That was a year ago though so I'm getting another blood test drawn and this time I'm going to an endocrinologist instead of my regular doctor. It would make sense if that was the problem but I don't really think that my TSH levels could have risen 2 points in a year.
What did you mean about my carb intake?
Thanks again! I really appreciate it.

All right so at the moment you aren't really overweight. So that in itself will make it harder to loose weight. You may be gaining muscle in your legs.
When was the most weight lost in the 5 months?

Your body has probably adapted to your workout schedule so it isn't burning like it should..

    I personally ran 5 miles 4 days a week.
    Plus 200 push+situps AND 25 pullups+dips 3 days a week

Even though its a lot after 3 months results slowed drastically. Because of my body getting used to the workout.

Change it up a little with your workout/eating schedule
