Toilet Repair Kit
The toilet components have to be replaced. They have kits with all the necessary
Parts. But I see a lot of complaints regarding Fluidmasters. $19.96.
Maybe there is a better toilet kit available someplace?

A kit huh? What does this kit consist of? You may be purchasing parts that you don't need, Why don't you tell me your complaint and I'll help you sort it all out.
Back to you. Tom

Had made of a lot of noise . Flapper assembly rubber worn. Chain broken.
Water keeps running. More expensive to buy each part individually.

Where did you hear complaints about Fluidmaster? Always found Fluidmaster to be great products.

One more time. What does the kit consist of. If your complaint deals with the flapper and everything else's working then why replace working parts?
Do I have to remove the tank from the toilet
To install the kit?
Not unless the kit contains a flush valve and overflow. But then we don't know what the kit contains do we?

The wife wants to put in all new parts? The kit includes, 400A fill valve/A flush valve with an adjust-a- flush flapper/tank to bowl hardware/sure fit chrome tank lever.
It doesn't mention Toilet Tank Gasket

Yes! The tank will have to be removed to replace the flush valve. And it's a good ides to replace the toilet tank gasket, ( it's called a spud washer (see image) Your wife's putting you through a lot of work to replace working parts. But I wish you all the luck in the world. Tom

Yes Thank you. Hope spud washer comes with it. I wonder if a little plumber's putter
On the spud washer would make a better seat.

One more thing. When you reinstall the tank do not tighten it down tight. Leave about 1/4" of play in the tank. The reason for that is if you crank it down tight the first person that leans back will put a strain on the porcelain at the tank bolts and crack the floor of the tank. By allowing the tank to "give" a bit will reduce the strain on the bolts. Good luck, Tom

Yes thanks. The wife got the kit it has everything. Another problem water cut off valve for toilet
Does not close, keeps spinning around. Purchase a new valve. Look like it a male in one end.
Hopes it fits. Anyhow have the main water cut off valve outside the house.
Thanks for your fine help. A real education.
