I started spotting a week before my period was due. It was very light, and then it got a little heavier and now a week later it is subsiding. My periods are usually very heavy and always on schedule. I am taking Sprintec birth control and haven't missed a pill, but I don't take it the same time every night, because of my job. Am I pregnant or is it something else? I took a pregnancy test about three days before my period and it was negative.

You can not take the pregnancy test before the period for any effective test.

You need to wait till about 10 to 15 days after your period was to start. For best results

But it could be just a early period, you will just have to wait and see.
