Trying to get pregnant at age 35
I recently have turned 35, I was thinking about trying to conceive for which will be my first child. I am a very nervous person, it has been a long time since I have seen a gyno, and now with reading all negative comments online about getting pregnant at 35+, I really am scared even more now. I wish I would have started earlier, but did not really put too much thought into, thinking I still had time. Should I forget trying at this age? Is it really super hard to get pregnant at this age?

Yes, getting pregnant at an older age does make it more difficult to conceive and also increases the chances of genetic disorders and other health problems. However, depending on your health and how much you want to have a child I see no reason why you shouldn't try if you really want to start a family. Many women start families in their 30's and most have no difficulties; of course a few do. It's a trade off really and a personal decision that only you can make.

You should really talk to your doctor about this too. They'll be able to recommend going ahead with a pregnancy or not. They may also be able to help you conceive easier.

I have an aunt who had a daughter in her 40's (her husband was in his 50's) and they had no problems. I also have a step sister who is mentally retarded and her parents were in their early 20's when she was born. What I'm trying to say is that there is always going to be a risk of something going wrong. And with today's technology and precautions the chances of problems being minor is much better.

But talk to your doctor, get their opinion and then think about it. Also try not to let the things people say online about older women conceiving scare you, many women are waiting to have children until their older.
