2cm dilated at 37wks 2days, should we induce?
At 2cm dilated and thin cervix, my OB said that if I will still not have labor pains by tonight she will apply induction for labor tomorrow.. (I've been 2cm dilated since Thursday 1130am)
I have read many trusted web sites saying
    - at 2cm dilated, pregnancy is probably days or even weeks away (if I will be induced tom, aren't we going to try to 'prematurely' deliver the baby?)
    - induction usually leads to C-sections (which I pray could be avoided!)
    - I am at 37wks 2days today, I've read in many sites that it is more preferable if baby comes out at 39/40 weeks as the baby is fully developed by then

You are right in most cases.

It is too early to induce and baby could be placed at risk by inducing this early. Many facilities (I don't know what part of the world you live it) will not do elective inductions prior to 39 weeks.

2 centimeters dilation is not uncommon at 37 weeks. If you aren't having any contractions there is no need to place yourself and your baby at risk.

Induction doesn't always, or usually, result in c-sections, but it does increase the risk. Unless you are a high risk pregnancy with issues such as Gestational Diabetes or Preeclampsia, just to name 2, there is no reason for an elective induction and you should wait until you go into labor on your own.

How is your health when you are not pregnant? Do you have any health issues associated with your pregnancy?
