My dog has not eaten in 7 days and won't drink water
My 7 year old dog has not eaten in 7 days and the only water he has had is what I have given him with a turkey baster. Half of the time he throws the water back up. He even refused to eat deli meat and cheese. He just lays on the floor and won't do anything. He will let me push on his stomach and that does not seem to bother him.

Any change in behavior should be looked into by a Vet. Seven days without eating? Water through a poultry baster?

He needs to see a Vet - it could be anything.

My personal experience - my dog died in April from congestive heart failure. I should have seen it, my Vet should have seen it, to specialists should have seen it - but none of us did.

Please - take your dog to a Vet. I know how terrible I feel, and I did everything I knew to do. If something happens it will be difficult for you to forgive yourself.

I am having difficulty forgiving myself.

Your dog needs to see a vet ASAP. 7 days without eating and throwing up what water you have gotten into him, I'm sure he is dehydrated at this point.
On top of what causing the lack of appetite and vomiting, this is not a good scenario.
Please get him to the vet.

I am calling the vet in the morning to get him in. I fed him plain yogurt and he has kept that and water down all day.

I called the emergency vet and they suggested trying to give him plain yogurt. I did that and he has kept that down all day. I am taking him into the vet in the morning.

That is at least something.(the yogurt I mean) If he is keeping the water down you could try giving him some gatorade or pedialyte to help with the electrolytes.
Make certain you express the urgency of this so you can get the first available appointment or sooner he should be there first thing.

    Had to put dog down
    To all,
Unfortunately, I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday. He had developed a very aggressive form of cancer and it had already attacked and shut down his liver and kidneys. He is in a better place and no longer in pain.

Oh, Megan - I'm so, so very sorry. You, of course, didn't have to watch him linger, hoping you were making the right choice for him, but this truly makes my heart ache.

    I'm so sorry.
