I was just indicted by a grand jury
I have no criminal background besides a dui that I finished probation for, plus a few taken care of traffic tickets. Being accused of selling adderall. My question is they have requested 15,000 secure bond and have requested a district court arrest warrant. Will I be arrested soon or in district court?

    Hello P:

You'll be arrested BEFORE you get to court.. Now would be the time to hire a good criminal lawyer.

Depending on the efficiency of the prosecutor's office staff and of the court, a day or so. Prepare for the door bell ringing.

Seriously, now would be the time to think about arranging bail.

Thank you so much for all your help in my time of need I've never ever been in trouble when I don't even remember doing this. The under covers were buying a bunch of a tequila shots. But if I did I accept full responsibility. Here is my disabilities and I'm going to assume the jails inability to deal with me.

Why don't they wait for my court hearing? I have plenty of time to run obviously I'm not a flight risk.

Will you please tell me what the difference is between the 15,000 secure bond is different than anything else

They apparently disagree, if in fact they are seeking an arrest warrant.

The term "secure bond" may have variable meaning, depending on your jurisdiction, but in general a bail bond works something like this: You go to a bail bondsman, who is the broker for a bonding company. They will, for a price, give the court a surety bond, providing that, in the event you don't show up for trial, they (the "surety") will pay the court $15,000. In order to get them to agree to issue the bond, someone (the guarantor) will have to pay them a percentage, generally 10%, as I recall. The guarantor won't get this money back. It's the price of the bond. In addition, if you violate the conditions of the bond, and they have to pay, they will be able to come after the guarantor for what they have to pay.
