    Bathroom sink drain pipe rusted
    Hello,
I have a bathroom sink where the drain hole leads into the PVC p-trap, but there is a 6" section of metal/chrome pipe that has rusted away from the sink. Not sure what the best way to approach this would be?
    Thanks for your help

I assume that you have a pop up waste. Not knowing what part of the unit leaves me in the dark. Here's a cutaway of a lavatory pop up so you'll know what to ask for,(see image) Take the old part into a plumbing shop and ask for a replacement. The pipe that connects to the trap is called the tailpiece and threads into the piece with the lever. Good luck, tom
