Why do I get rusty water from only 1 faucet
Why do I get rusty water from only the tub when turned on? All new plumbing (PEX), water heater, Delta tub and shower fixtures.

    Hi Bakerwr

If you only get rusty water from your tub/shower valve then someone has probably left a black iron test nipple (rusts) in place when it should have been removed and replaced with a brass nipple (doesn't rust).

Call the plumbers back and have them check the tub spout nipple... my guess is that is the issue... ;)

I have rust coming out of one of my bathroom faucets. Doesn't matter how long I leave it on rust still comes out. It is OK when I turn on the cold water, only happens when I turn on the hot water. Any advice?

Rusty water [ 2 Answers ]

We have a shallow well with a 5 gal. tank & 1 h.p. pump motor. It has a cheap add on conditioner for acid. There is a lot of rust in the water especially when the water isn't used for a while. Then it comes out dark brown & takes a month or so to clear up. Then of course everything is rust stained...

What about rusty water [ 1 Answers ]

We just installed a new faucet in our bath tub. The first handful of water that comes out each time is rusty looking, then clears up. Is this a problem and how do we fix it?
