    Pluming toilet flange
    I have a 50 year old house and am replacing the floor tile and have a problem with the original flange for the pipe from the floor and 1 of the bolts is broken do we replace the flange on the pipe or are they 2 pieces/and unscrew the pipe from basement is cast iron

    You can buy a flange repair kit at a plumbing supply house or a really good Home Depot. The pipe going into the basement is not going to unscrew. It is probably lead and oakum. Sealed.

    Some plumbers like to remove and reinstall cast iron flanges. I like the compression flange with the 3 allen screws on top, bolt or screwing the flange to the floor.

Hello, I realized as I was installing the subfloor in my new bathroom that I had cut off the pvc to short. It is slightly lower that the subfloor. Is there a longer flange which will solve this problem or should I remove the floor add a coupling and more pvc to raise the height? Thanks, m2

Hi, I'm putting a new floor in the bathroom. The tolet flange is higher by 1/4 in on one side and 1/2 in on the other above the floor I'm going to put ceramic tile down. Do I need to level it out or bring the floor up around the flange? Thanks Tim

My 90 year old house has only a lead pipe coming about an inch out of the floor where the toilet was sitting, it is 4" diameter and it looks like the wax ring was placed right onto that without a flange. If I find a flange that fits, no luck so far, how do I attach it to the floor? Please explain...
