    A.P US History
I'm on my last question for my Summer assignment and I need your help on AP US History.
    The Question is:
Given the original geographical origins of the Indian populations, in which direction did their earliest migrations across North America occur: from southeast to north and west, from southwest to north and east, or from northwest to south and east?

I think the answer would be from northwest to south and east since the Bering Land bridge was originally in the Northwest.
    Am I correct? Please help!

    Thanks for your guys help,

This is for US History, not Ancient History, right?

    Name some tribes.

That is what I teach in 4th grade California History. The earliest Native Americans used the land bridge and walked south and east following Wooly Mammoths and Mastodons as these were their food sources at the time. I know this is a silly answer for AP History, but I saw your question and this is what we teach in CA. If you look at Native American tribes and their early locations, it would give you the same answer.

Yes, our textbooks in elementary school teach that the Native Americans came across the land bridge in search of food. At that time, wooly mammoths and mastodons were their main food sources. Archaeologists have uncovered this evidence. This is CA history, which is US History. I am commenting because the direction from the land bridge to CA is Southeast. Hence, why I commented on the question.
