    My water pump will not shut off, replaced the pressure gage, made sure there were no
    Water pump will not shut off, [I] replaced pressure gauge, made sure there mwere no leaks. Could the jet pump be pushing water back down the pipe into the well? The pump has two pipes going into the well , could the foot vavle be leaking? But the water is always there so I don't have to prime it. Any Ideas?

    The jet pump is definitely pushing water back into the well since that is how it works. That is what one of the two pipes is there for.

    It could be that your cut off pressure is set too high. You can lower that at the switch, a little grey box with wires coming out of it. Remove the cover with the power off. Turn the large center nut one full turn COUNTER clockwise. Try the power on again and see if that helps.

    It just sounds like your pump cannot get up to cut off pressure. That could be caused by a lowered water table. Are you in a drought area? Could also be caused by a pump that is starting to wear out.

    You do want to solve this problem since running constantly will eventually cause the pump to fail.

    What does pressure gauge read? If pressure shown on gauge is above pump cut off pressure you could have a clogged orifice in pressure switch.
