I met my boyfriend in Italy 2 years ago. After a year of long distance, I moved to Italy to be with him ( I'm American ). This past year I have been working 6 days a week, every week, and adjusting to every possible change necessary. It has been a difficult road, but I honestly thought he could be the one, so therefore I tried.

I left my entire life behind to start something new with him because he could not do the same for me. I left my job, my friends, my family, and quit school.

Every day was a challenge, but I was up for it until the day I realised he was not thinking about my future, but only of his own. After numerous fights, discussions, and battles to make him understand... I than began to break down. I knew I had to leave him. I told him I was going back to the states to return to school and he was completely devastated. Torn and broken, he tried to be OK. I told him I would be buying my ticket home soon, but didn't specify when... Eventually after a fight and a long night of tears, I bought my ticket. I didn't tell him, and when he found out from one of my friends he told me to get out of our apartment in less than 24hrs, leaving me nowhere to go in a foreign country.

So I did. 10 hours later I left him. A friend helped me move all my things as his Italian mother watched as I struggled through the door. I was left feeling sad, hurt, and very alone. I know he felt the same but I just can't make sense of anything right now. I don't even know what I feel.

He doesn't deserve you. You are too good for him. You sacrificed everything to be with him... He then kicks you out onto the streets (like you said, in a foreign country)

Let this be a lesson for the both of you. As sad as it is, and it is, you have to move on.

Focus on school. Focus on you.

This too shall pass...

I would say sorry for your loss, but I think you have gained much, even though it was a hard step to take.

I can only give you a >big cyber hug<, and hope you have friends and family to help you through this terrible emotional time.

Thank you. I understand what I have to do, and that I am closing one chapter in my life while another one opens, but yes, it's very difficult... so... Thank you for taking the time to respond.
