The gateway device is normally the router that connects to the internet.
A simple reboot should help.
Also make sure your subnet mask is correct for your network.
Should be 255.255.255.0

Networking problem
Do u think that its may be due to cable failure or over range(distance) because I'm about 45 mtrs far from the router and router(6 port switch) is about 55-60 mtrs far from the modem.

What speed is this, 10baseT, 100baseT, or 1000baseT? What cable are you using Cat-3, Cat-5, Cat-5e, or Cat-6?

It will be printed over and over along the cable what type. These are very important things to know because they determine the capacity of the cable... vs the network speed.
You can sometimes get away cat-3 on a 1000base-t if its high quality and very short like 3feet long (one meter) but you will still get a high rate of packet errors. But for those distances if its 1000base-t you NEED a high quality cat-5e or cat-6 cable. Regular cat-5 isn't up to the task. And cat-3 is unlikely to work at all.

hi sir, I checked it, the cable is cat-5e. By the way some time my internet woks fine and sometime internet connection status shows "Not Available" but few minutes later the sent and recvd data starts flowing but few minutes later it again shows the same error, what is it? The random connectivity loss occurs.

If you are 100base-t, you might have a mechanical connection issue, or maybe even a damaged cable, if its kinked anywhere its ruined. If anyone striped over it its ruined. If the cable is homemade it might have been connector ed wrong, if you have a 1000baset LAN, it can be a number of issues, even a combination. Was his just you or are othrs seeing this at the same time. If that's true, check the switch. I've had two of those fail in the last 2 years, but mine cleared with a power reset until I got tierd and bought new ones.
