    I want a family member to adopt me
    How can I go about being adopted I hate my dad I'm going to do summthing really bad I'm 17

    You get the family member's consent to adopt you and then both of your birth parents' consent.

    If that doesn't happen and you're being abused you call the Police and ask to be put in a foster care facility.

    How long before you are 18 and just leave the house on your own?

    At 17, you're better off either looking for a family member to get custody, not adopt you. You'll be 18 before the adoption proceedings can be finished.

    What you have to do is report the abuse in your house to the police, CPS, a school counselor, SOMEONE so that you are removed from your household. THEN your family member petitions for custody and guardianship of you.

    Either that, or you get your parents (BOTH of them) to agree to give guardianship and custody to your family member (who ALSO has to agree) and you go to court to have it changed.
