    30 day notice question
    Scenerio

    1 year lease ended in May 2012, so I am going month to month. I have sent the owner a 30day notice to vacate certified with a return receipt. Now the property manager says that we have to give notice on the 1st of August and be moved out on the 31st.

    Now we get the keys to a new place on the 1st and the current manager says we still have to pay the full month of August with no proration. Our lease does not signify that I have to give notice at the beginning of a month. It just says that it will be equated in a 30 day calculations.

    I have heard conflicting answers regarding the 30 day notice requirements. Any help would be great.

    Oh and this is in Las Vegas NV.

    The exact wording of your lease will be the rule that both parties have to go by. Normally the 30 day notice is viewed from due date ( normally 1st) or before, to the end of that month.


    Not 15th to 15th, but 1st to 30

    I scoured the state statute and can't find one or the other, so IF it doesn't exist then the wording of your lease prevails.
