What does an a coil do for home furnace?
If I have a 3 1/2 ton A coil but only a 2 1/2 ton A.C. unit will this cause a problem? Heater blower is 3 ton also if it matters.

A larger indoor coil will always work with a smaller outside unit up to a point. But the reverse of a larger outdoor unit and a small indoor coil WILL NOT WORK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Large type to get anyone's attention.

You will have to charge the unit a bit different and the flow rater/piston size will have to match the outside unit.
