8 y/o Bichon suddenly peeing in my bedroom?
I have an 8 year old Bichon Frise who has been sleeping on my bed since he was a puppy. No issues at all until the past few months, when I kept finding he had urinated on the floor in my room.
I started locking him out of the room when I wasn't in there, because he never seemed to do it when I was around. One day I accidentally left my door open slightly, came back a few hours later to find he had gone on my bed.
After that incident he is no longer allowed in my bedroom at all, but on occasion someone will leave my door open slightly (me or a family member) and he never fails to find out and urinate.
I often have a blanket on my lap in the living room, and he has gotten to the point where if I leave that on the floor, he urinates on that too!
He only does this to me and my possessions, never the rest of my family, so I assume it isn't a medical problem - I keep urging my mother to get it checked out anyway, but she likes to blame it on my messy bedroom.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I hate having to keep him locked out, and I'm at my wits end with him going every time I accidentally leave my door open a crack.
    Thanks everyone!

Rather than being angry with him and locking him out, which I'm sure he senses or knows, take him to a Vet and rule out physical problems.

I've read this behavior as a control issue on the dog's part, a testimony of his love for you ("I really love her. Here, let me pee on her clothes"), dominance, emotional problems.

He needs to see a Vet first.
