I'm hoping that someone might be able to help with a cartoon movie that I've been thinking a lot about recently. I don't remember much so will do my best to describe it.
The main character is a girl called Sophie, and is based in Australia. I believe she's staying with aunt/uncle and happens to go wondering in the outback where a female kangaroo befriends her.
I remember they go to a cave and the kangaroo explains the wall paintings are about a creature called the bunyip.
Somewhere down the line they end up getting chased by men with dingo's and I think the kangaroo may get injured but manages to get the girl back to her home.

I also remember a christmas special based on the same girl where she goes to somewhere icy (northpole or somewhere I think) and befriends a walrus and a penguin as well.

I really hope that someone will be able to let me know what this is, I remember really enjoying it as a kid and would love to track it down again :).
