    Hi,
You have already stated part of the answer. You need a 10mm tap; the pitch is what you also need to know. There are five different pitches possible of which only two are common. You may wish to investigate a thread replacement kit that includes appropriate drill bit, tap, insertion tool and inserts. Commonly available at most NAPA stores.
    Peace,

I asked the question yesterday about what to do if you have a stripped screw and can't get it out. I went to the hardware store and they told me to buy a screw extractor set so I did. I have tried to use it but I am not having any luck. Any ideas?:(
