    Hamilton Bay Ceiling fan keeps coming on by itself
    I have only a remote. I turn it off but seconds later it comes on again full blast. What us wrong? It's probably 10 years old.

    Someone nearby may have the same frequency remote as you.

    I doubt the neighbor theroy if this happens every time you shut it off. I would reset the dip switches in both the receiver and the remote, make them identical. I would also clean the buttons with a warm damp rag just in case they are sticking.
