We aren't dating but he is kind of like a fighting partner. He treats me like a girlfriend but also like a best friend. We have had our moments but have not made any sexual contact. I really like him and I feel like he might feel the same, I can't stop thinking of him, and it's hard to avoid him when I'm in the gym, or just outside my house, he is the 17 year old guy next door to me, best friend..

Sorry I accidentally wrote my reply under the answer, but to answer your question: the guy I am interested in is 22 but is friends with the 17 year old next door to me.

Sorry for the confusion, I like the 22 year old NOT the 17 year old. My question is, would it be illegal for me to date a 22 year old if I am only 13?

My mom doesn't mind as long as we keep it secret do he doesn't get into any trouble. I know that it's illegal to engage in sexual activity but would it be illegal for us to see each other?

I'm curious to know if this 22 year old is mentally challenged. Is he interested in dating you or is it wishful thinking on your part to date him? Most guys this age look at girls like you as little sisters. Any romantic interest is wrong on so many levels.

There are no laws governing dating. If your parents (both) approve AND you have no sexual activity (and I mean NONE) no laws are being broken.

That being said I can't imagine a parent that would allow their 13 yr old daughter to date a 22 yr old. Frankly I don't believe your mother agreed.

Also, I cannot imagine what a 22 yr old would have in common with a 13 yr old. I can't imagine what he would want except sex. He might be leading you on until he can get into your pants.

Any honest and smart 22 yr old would run from a 13 yr old who thinks of him romantically. You are what is referred to as jail bait.

I know exactly what you mean by him thinking of me as just a little sister but then he kissed me and it confused me, I have always admired him and thought he was attractive, I practically fell for his personality but tried to forget about it because I thought he thought of me as a little sister but then he kissed me and I started think of the possibilitys

Im 13 and I think that age doesn't matter, but if he's over 18, He's a creeper. I don't think your mom should tell you its all right as long as you keep it secret because its not all right at all. First of all: If he is 22 then He should be in college or at work, not taking a 13 yearold to school. 2nd of all: it is very illegal and if you love him don't send him to jail for sexual conduct. Im 13 and I have no idea what you would see in a 22 year old guy because all that would be going trough my mind would be, "rape, rape, rape, run from rape!". If he's interested in you, than its probable that its some kind of fettish. Its not OK to date a 22 year old when your 13. I get it if your older and say your 34 and he's 45 but that's not the case. You should be thinking about school, and who your true friends are, not who your true love is.

Keeping it secret is even worse because if something happens to you, and he might be the cause, your mom is the only one that knows and someone's bound to find out, then your friends will ditch you, and your life will be over. Its not smart, and I guarantee that he's not going to wait 2-3 years for sex if he's 22.

I don't think its OK for you to date him. Just be friends with him until you it 18, maybe then you can think about him, but right now, think about you, and what college or high school you want to go to, and what you want to do for a living.
Live like you are a teen, it will be the best years of your life.

Not like that -__- I grapple with most of the guys I train with, I'm the only girl do I don't have a girl partner to grapple with. And by the way most of the guys I train with are within the age area of 17-23
