    Bible Quote help
Ok, I met this "spiritualist" that claims she can hold your hands, close her eyes and "feel" your aura, and then she will give you a bible quote that best pertains to you at that time. She never says the quote, she only gives the scripture, and seen as I am no atheist, I figured I would give it a try to see if I need to work on my life.

My background in a nutshell, I used to be a violent person, severe anger issues, I eventually checked myself into anger management to get help before I met my current wife, and ever since I have been so happy, and am VERY glad I check in when I did. I admit I was a very mean person, and needed help. I got help that was clearly needed, but at the same time, I am not a very religious person, although occasionally I will go to church with my wife, but I would just feel weird asking the reverand about scriptures, because I keep thinking he will tell me I should know a bunch of them by now. I am 26 years old, Yes, I said not very religious, because I go to church here and there, basically when the mood hits me, same as my wife.

I am worried this scripture that was given to us refers to our way of life. I would look it up in my wife's bible, but it was lost in the 2011 flood, and again, I would feel very weird about going to church and simply asking to take a bible home. I would feel like I am stealing it, and I DO NOT want to steal from the church! I am trying to turn my life around, and not be the old me, if that makes any sense. Anyway, here is the scripture:

    1st Corinthians 4:4

What does this mean for me? Is it going to make my church visits even more awkward? Or should I be Proud? Do I need to work on another thing? I asked the lady, and she said all she is allowed to give me is the scripture, and that is it.

    1 Corinthians 4:4

My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

However, there is a LOT to say about your question/situation. Nobody expects you to have the bible memorized. I would worry a lot less about what your pastor may think of you... and in most cases that is an irrational fear and the pastor most likely isn't thinking that at all.

My biggest point that I want to make is that the Devil used scripture when testing Jesus in the wilderness. Satan knows the bible, demons know the bible... so should you be surprised when an individual who is getting her knowledge from the spirit world is able to cough up scripture. Don't be so easily fooled about the spirit world, my friend. God has also FORBIDDEN communication with spirits and those that work with them. I don't care how "religious" you may or may not be... if you consider yourself a Christian you have NO business seeing a spiritualist.

Since you seem so set on living your life according to a verse... try reading it in CONTEXT, out of the bible... as opposed to getting your scripture from someone who is either a liar or dealing with demonic forces. You lost your bible? www.biblegateway.com

You can go to just about any bookstore and find a whole rack of Bibles in various translations. If you want to know what the verse says, just go into one of those stores and start browsing. Who knows, you might even end up buying one. Aside from that, Hauntinghelper's advice is solid.
