    slow moving yard man
My rear drive belt broke on my mower. Replaced the belt now my mower moves slow. I'm thinking I have the wrong belt or either I have the belt on wrong. I kind of find that hard to believe, its only two pulleys and a small spring pulley. But I could be wrong. The belt that I used was 5/8 x35. Any suggestion?

    Hi,
You need to use the OEM(MTD) belt since many are custom in both length and width. Cannot look it up for you without a model number.

Had the same problem even with OEM belt. I sprayed it with belt friction/tightening spray from hardware store and it has worked like a champ ever since. Good luck.
