    My big kitty.
I have a cat named carona. He is very ober weight. I put him on a diet as the vet suggested. He has lost 5 pounds or so so far. I have cut his food down to about a half a cup twice a day. He is down to 23 pounds. He is not happy about haven his food cut fown. He yells at me daily. He seems to think he is starving but he isn't. He gets good exercise running with our 9 month old chihuahua jack. Is there anything else I can do to help him with his weight? And his yelling at me for not giving him more food? Should I feed him more and just leave his weight issues alone? I want him to live a long happy healthy life. If anyone could help me with this question that would be great.

Give him different types of food maybe a new taste will make him not care as much ,but as far as not caring about his weight? That's not a good idea in the long run your cat will live happier and longer

Caron is about 5 years old maybe a bit older. Spliting his food like that is a great idea. Thank you will start that today. I did not want to give in and give him as much food as he wanted. I love caron so very much. So does my son. He is the best cat ever. :) thanks for the great tips

Perhaps he is like us people, when we go on a diet and cut down our intake of calories, we get pretty strong hunger pains until our stomach adjusts and shrinks. He is probably crying cause he is still hungry, so I know it is hard, but he will adjust to less food in time and be happier and healthier for it. Hang in there, you are doing a good thing. Don't let him coerce you :-) It is for his own good :-)

Divide up her food into small meals through the day so she doesn't feel like she is being starved to death.
