    Should I discard my printer/scanner?
I have a HP OfficeJet J4680 All in One.

Last month, I scanned a 30-page document and send it to a friend. He could not open it. (?) He had to go to an Apple store to open it. And the scan option stopped working after that overload of scanning. I kept uninstalling and reinstalling the drive for HP OfficeJet J4680. After the installation of the full software the scan option was available again. I turned off the printer/scanner and boom, the scan option is not available any more. Is it fixable ( to get the scan option back permanently)

This printer can print one page of the time. It takes a long time.

Is it a good idea to get rid of it yet?

See my next question for why my friend could not open my file for him.

Your friend's problem had nothing to do with the printer. It had to do with how you were saving the scanned images.

As to the problems with the printer, have you checked with HP's tech support? The 4680 is a new model so should be under warranty.
