My boyfriend wants to become a rapper
I don't want him to be one because I know I couldn't handle dating someone famous and what comes with it but I want to stick by him. He says if nothing works out by October when he starts school he's going to drop it. He is trying to get personally recognized by 1 rapper and he has a Myspace that he is tryna use to get in contact with these people. What are the chances of getting recognized online? What should I do I mean I hate to say it but I really don't want this to work out for him. Even more so, I don't think he is good enough to actually get signed.. w"]

You know, if you really care about him you should support him. If you can't handle dating someone famous then that's something that you have to think about. But don't be selfish. The chances aren't that great, but it's still possible.

First odds of him becoming famous by OCT is next to impossible, but then strange things happen. We have rappers and hip hop artist perform for free in our coffee house all the time, most are spending years making sample CD's, playing for free, or for tips, and getting a few paid gigs now and then, and as they build up a following more and more paid gigs.

Most never get famous, they may be well known locally.
A few of the 1000's doing it , make it big.

But ifyou can't support this deams, perhaps you and he are not a good match

My boyfriend is a very talented rapper. He has a group called untamed click from killeen Texas. There not sign although they should be. Its his dream to continue to make music not necessary so much about being famous. He just wants his music to be heard and respected. I love him so I support what he loves. If things change which they might I guess we'll see if its hard. Things will change if you decide to stay with him believe that. Its up to you if you willing to handle it or if he's willing to stay committed. Either way its your boyfriends dream regardless if he's good or bad. You can't hold someone back from pursuing something they love. If you love him you'll let him do what he loves rather than being selfish... so right now it sounds like a personal problem to me.

here's the idea, becoming a rapper or the idea of making this a career is highly stressful not to mention highly unstable, you as a girlfriend should be concerned with this, because the pursue of this career can alter the relationship itself. Rap is not rap anymore, it consists of bragging about es, cars, materialistic value, and male dominance, meaning who's the strongest. Rap isn't an artform anymore, it doesn't really discuss socially economic disadvantaged communities anymore, it is not the face of the people who suffer in these communities. Ideally if he's really considering to be this type of person or pursue something unstable, leave him I can promise you that its not worth going down the gutter for him or with him. In terms of being selfish can we also look at this the other way around? Would he not be selfish to consider HER feelings about this situation? There is nothing wrong with stability furthermore there is nothing wrong with making stable decisions that insure economic stability it is what you do when you grow up. You chase something that is through LUCK, comes to find out you're a middle aged man living in someone's ing basement or still living at home. I always say make a plan A where stability counts Plan B is fun. Whether fun becomes a success or not you always have plan A to fall back on, instead of your friends couch or matress in the street.

Who was that british rapper and what was the name of that song? [ 1 Answers ]

I saw a music video a couple of weeks ago on a top ten show in S. Korea. I can't remember the rapper's name or the name of the song, but the song was about a girl who picks him up and drops him. The beat was a sample of an old song in the background. And the video was weird but cool, it had a scene...
