    Matter of the heart
I had a steady boyfriend who I broke up with around May. He has been my pillar all along, my bestest friend, standing up for me and supporting me and loving me at all times.
It was in may that I met another guy, complete charmer and really witty, sensitive, thoughtful... we share a lotta interests too. We hit it off instantly. That our first telephone conversation was long as a snake is enough proof. I found myself liking the guy.
I was torn, had no idea what to do. I gave it thought, gave it time. I swear I did... and I broke up with him.
Some weeks later, the guy and I started dating. We're the no clauses daters: just together because we want to be, without the shackles of a conventional commitment.
I came back home in holidays and my ex and I had initially planned to meet, which was obviously called off after the breakup. He took it really hard, needed time to 'only treat me as a friend'.
But then we finally decided to meet today. Watched a movie with some of my friends. He had once made three promises to me, which he wanted to fulfill. He did, and now he's going away from my life.
I cannot let go. The thought of him not being there made me cry for the better part of an entire day.
I love him, he's my best friend and I cannot think of a life without him, no matter how hard I try. He has, till today, continued to be my support. And even though it breaks his heart, he wants to leave. 'be happy, you have another guy in your life!' is what he keeps repeating. Can't we be friends? I cannot imagine what I'd be without him. I've lost enough people already, not him now!
The guy, meanwhile, likes me. We aren't even on love yet: we're going slow, maybe we'll get there, maybe we won't.
Torn as I am, what do I do?

Your first mistake was going from one guy right to the other.
You could have not dated either of them and get to know the second guy?
But you blew it with the first one. You can't have it all. Leave him alone and let him heal.
