    96 camry, smells bad & smokes sometimes. Was told needs rt. Front seal, true?
    A mechanic said I needed right front seal because oil was dripping on exhaust causing the smell & smoke. Which seal is it & how do I get info. On it. I have been taken advantage of too much regarding this car because its my first toyota, & because I'm a woman some men think I'm ignorant. HELP

    He may be referring to the front main crankshaft seal. If it's the rear main crankshaft seal, the transmission will have to be dropped for access and repairs will be expensive. On many front wheel drive cars, it's the rear main crankshaft seal that would leak onto the exhaust. Therefore, find out for sure and get several estimates in writing.
