Should I break up with my long time boyfriend
    I honestly don’t know what to do…

I am currently a 28 year old gay man who has been dating a guy who is five years older than me for the past five years. We love each other but it seems as though we’ve been fighting non-stop lately. Well…I know why. 6 months ago he “almost” cheated on me (according to him). Side note; does engaging in oral sex for a minute and then stopping count as cheating? I think so, but that’s beside the point.

Anyway, he claimed that I was already out the door when he committed those things. The reality was, he had lied numerous times previously and his communication was close to zero. I gave up and started hanging out with friends on my own so he feels that we were broken up. Did I mention that we moved in together 1 year into our relationship and were living together when this happened? I moved out as soon as I found out and since then, he has been trying to communicate. I failed to mention that my resentment and anger are overflowing and he receives every bit of it. I know he really wants to try, but I also know that I don’t make it easy on him…he also likes to make that very clear. I have also committed a few adulterous affairs since then that he does not know about since we have been trying to work things out exclusively. It is getting out of control and we have been fighting so much lately and all I want to do is be happy with him because when it is good, it is real good and I know there is a real love there. What should I do? Any advice? I realize when I am writing this, then most people would call me a dumbass for even writing you, but you have got to believe me when I say that I love him and I do think there is a hope? I would love your opinion, even if it is true that I am just an idiot.

    Thanks.

If you're unhappy, leave. When it comes down to an unhealthy and unhappy relationship, the time you've been together is only a number. Don't put yourself through all this heartache for no reason.

No communications, no relationship, instead of talking you both play silly mind games, so I see no point right now, so leave him alone and get your own head together without him in your life.

You know he is a liar, so why believe anything that he says? Your hope is a false one.
