    I have a 1950 ge electric oven/stove
When I turn on the stove or oven it only heats to about low or med.I have had the element of one eye checked it was OK.last week I turned on the stove and it tripped the breaker. I took the breaker to lowe's it showed a burnt spot. Replaced and when I turn on the stove the brkr still trips. If the stove is unplugged the brkr does not trip.could it be a burnt or bare wire in the stove/oven wiring?

    .
could it be a burnt or bare wire in the stove/oven wiring?
Yes, the fault has to be in the stove.

at my outside porch light all three wires shoe hot.
Tell us how you determined that.
    Describe wiring.

    .
is that phrase correct knob and tube
Could be, knob and tube wiring will have individual wires on insulators passing through walls, not electrical cables.

The appliance and wiring in your home are the age of being dangerous. The stove at 63 years old should be removed or taken out of service. The knob and tube wiring should all be replaced with modern, safe and up to code wiring. I am only mentioning these things for your safety and well being. There is every possibility that if there were a fire that destroyed your home, unless it is specified in the insurance policy that the house is still wired in that fashion, and a separate rider attached, you would not collect anything because of the age and the fact this type of wiring is considered illegal in most jurisdictions. I have seen this happen to three people here in New England in the last 3 years.
