Paid for car in full & dealership still hasn't given it to me...
I purchased a car (paid in full) at a dealership 11 days ago. They said they needed to detail it & fix a small piece in the back seat & would call me to pick it up the next day. (They sent me home with a loaner car). Its been 11 days and still no car. At first when I would call they would tell me they were almost done & I would have it in a day or so. Now I leave messages for the salesman AND manager & they do not return my calls. If I do get one on the phone they say they will "check into it" & call me back. They never do. What are my rights? (We are in CA)

Have you actually bothered to drive over there yourself and see what's going on... rather than play phone tag? You make it appear to them you are in no real rush.

Car dealers are very carefully watched. Go to this dealer tomorrow morning, wave your paperwork around, and say that in 30 minutes you are contacting the Attorney General's Dept of Consumer Protection, the DMV, the state licensing board, your bank (how did you pay?), and the BBB, and that you have written every event on each of the 11 days. Plus you are going to stand outside and loudly tell everyone who goes by or near the door your story. Let us know what happens.

I bought a new car once, not knowing that the dealer was bankrupt and in the process of being bought by another dealer, and in limbo (I should have noticed all the wires sticking out of walls where desks had been). The car wasn't really theirs to sell! I hit the roof and got the car.

    Hello p:

My bet is they crashed your car and are trying to fix it so you won't notice.. I'd NEVER take delivery on that car.. In fact, I'd NEVER take delivery on ANY car from this dealer...

I agree with joy. I'd be down there FIRST thing in the morning - NOT to pick up my car, but to CANCEL the deal. They've already breached the contract. All you're doing is acknowledging it.

Yes, I would not have left without MY car if I had paid for it, I would have not paid till they were ready to give me a signed title if I was paying cash.
