Buy toys for him, get a companion for him.

I am guessing you are out on summer vacation - ? Was he bored when you were in school most of the day?

Buy him some books, magazines, maybe some DVD's...

Really, cats don't get bored. Cats will always manage to find something to do.

I've had cats all my life. They sleep about 16 hours a day and are never bored (like people can be). They live in the Now, in the Present, without worrying about past events or being anxious about the future.

Wad up a newspaper page or take the little blue plastic ring off the milk gallon bottle, then let your cat bat them around on the floor. Be sure to have a good rope-covered scratching post for him to scratch on. Cats love empty boxes, or as soon as we bring in a big box that UPS delivered, one or more cats will jump on top of it and sit there and act like a king or queen.

The magic of cats is that they are easily entertained, don't need to be taken on walks, and are happiest just sitting near you or on your lap.
