How can my son sign his rights over to me (his Mother)?
Can this be done before the baby is born or do we have to wait until after the baby is born? We will want a DNA test of coarse but we want to have rights to the baby as well and he doesn't want to have to deal with her because she is not totally right in the head. She has tried to cause harm in my unborn granddaughter and we need to know what to do?

There is nothing you can do until the baby is born and until the DNA test has been done and confirmed your son as the father.

How has she attempted to "commit harm" to the fetus?

Where do people think they can sign of rights to another human like they are property like an old car that's breaking down?

The only people with "RIGHTS" are the mother and the father... until they are taken away and reassigned by the court.

And he very much SHOULD get the DNA test done... in case its not his. Which happens more often than most people think.

Happens all the time where I work. Multiple boys/men show up for the labor and delivery. Yes, I have Jerry Springer nights in the L&D department, I just don't get rich like Jerry has.

YOU need to start a pool... call it "Whos the Daddy" winner gets 80% of the pot... you the house keeps 20%, don't think the powers that be would be too happy though.

Even among MARRIED couples the biological dad isn't often who its assumed to be.

I'd just like to point out that your son can't just give his rights away to anyone but a court.

And YOU can't get guardianship or adopt the baby unless you PROVE that the mother is unfit AND your son relinquishes his rights.

I STRONGLY suggest your son talk to a lawyer about HIS rights and obligations.

PS--she was okay to have sex with, but not okay to raise his babies? WHY do people have sex with people they wouldn't have kids with? No judge is going to see him as any more stable than she is since he CHOSE to have sex with her unless you have serious proof that she is a danger to herself and others--specifically the baby. And even THEN, it's unlikely that a court would completely strip her of her rights. It's more likely that her custody or visitation would have to be supervised, but seriously---hormones are wacky things. She could come out of the pregnancy and be perfectly normal once her hormones calm down. Unless your son is having sex with institutionalized women?
