What seer rating do I need
I am looking to replace the AC and furnace in my 1993 home. 4,000 square feet, open floor plan, no basement. What seer rated AC unit would be best and what tonnage would work best for my house?

To do the calculations correctly you will need a ON SITE survey completed by a knowledgeable HVAC company. Then after that is done they will have to use your utility costs per KW in order to find out what would be the best SEER for your application. Sometimes you can buy a unit that is extremely energy efficient but it will take 20 years of savings to pay for the upgrade and by then the unit is shot so you will see no advantage. Enjoy your new units.

Rhuud air conditioner SEER rating [ 1 Answers ]

I am being told by a contractor that if I use a Rhuud UAND-36JAZ unit which Rhuud gives it a SEER rating of 13 and combine that with a UHLAHM3617 air handler that I ultimately get a SEER rating for the combined unit of 14. Is this true?
