    AC and what affects the thermostat?
    I live in 2 level SFH. The thermostat is upstairs in hall. Does having a window open downstairs in the basement in a closed room with basement door closed also effect the temp up stairs? I.E. Will it make ac work harder. No thermostat downstairs no zone heating and cooling only one thermostat.

    No effect assuming there is no cold air return in the closed room.
